In 1999, Bruce and Susan Young celebrated
their 25th year with Mission to the World in Japan. They
presently minister in Tokyo by leading spiritual renewal
classes for the Japan Presbyterian Church. No society is
bound as strongly to the values of duty, honor and obligation
as Japan is. One's worth is measured in terms of effort,
diligence and achievement. These values affect the churches.
Young Christian's zeal to live the Christian life is often
short lived because they are motivated for wrong reasons.
Doing activities becomes a way of gaining merit before God,
looking good to others and feeling good about personal achievements.
The Youngs desire to see leaders and future leaders lives
transformed by coming to a deep understanding that God's
forgiveness is greater than their sin and that His love
and acceptance go beyond their furthest expectation. Bruce
and Susan hold classes for pastors, wives, staff workers,
missionaries, and believers in the Tokyo area.
Pray for these three things:
One, that the Gospel will grow larger in our
own lives.
Two, that we will have wisdom in teaching
this to others and getting the material into a good Japanese
format.
Three, that God would raise up future Japanese
leaders able to teach these truths to others.
