The Jacksons
Bill, Jean, Aaron, Adam, Asa, Asher, Able, Amos, Abram
Bill spent most of his childhood in
the Pacific Northwest. He is a graduate of Eastern Washington
University with a B.A in Education, and of Reformed Theological
Seminary (May'88).
Jean also grew up in the Pacific Northwest,
attending the same high school as Bill. There they met,
due to their related fields of interest Bill being a gymnast
and Jean a classical ballet dancer. Jean, too, went on to
study at EWU.
Both Bill and Jean became interested
in missions while Bill was attending Reformed Theological
Seminary. Bill centered his studies in the M.Div./Missiology
program, while Jean became active in the campus. Feeling
a strong call to work with an unreached people group, the
Jacksons were thinking of becoming translators in a tribal
culture.
Through Dan Iverson, a former RTS classmate, Bill and Jean
came to see the Japanese as one of those unreached peoples.
Japanese Christians compose less than one percent of that
nation's population!
Due to heightened materialism and a changing culture, there
is a new openness in Japan to the Gospel.
Bill and Jean, along with their children,
Aaron (12/8/81), Adam (4/2/84), Asa (7/28/86), Asher (12/2/88),
Abel (12/13/90) and Amos (6/8/93), are glad to be able to
be a part of the Chiba Churchplanting team.
